Electrical Design Should Start Early
Electrical engineering should not be something added after the architectural design is finished.
The best electrical solutions are developed alongside the architecture, not after it. We work with architects and project teams from the early stages of a project to understand the building, identify electrical requirements, coordinate systems and develop a design that supports the architecture, budget and intended use of the project.
01 — CONCEPT
Electrical requirements identified from the beginning.
Electrical design should begin alongside the architectural concept.
At the early stages, we work with the architect and project team to understand the building's intended use, identify electrical requirements and consider the systems that will influence the design.
This can include power requirements, lighting, electrical infrastructure, communications, EV charging, renewable energy, fire and life-safety systems and other building services.
The goal: identify the important electrical decisions before they become difficult or expensive to change.
02 — DESIGN
Electrical systems coordinated with the architecture and other disciplines.
As the project develops, we translate the requirements into a coordinated electrical design.
We work alongside the architectural and engineering teams to coordinate electrical systems with the building layout, structure, mechanical services and other project requirements.
The design is developed with applicable standards, regulations, safety requirements and practical installation considerations in mind.
The goal: create an electrical design that works as part of the building—not as a separate layer added afterwards.
03 — CONSTRUCTION
Clear documentation supporting implementation on site.
A good electrical design must be understandable and practical for the people who build it.
We provide clear drawings, specifications and technical information to support contractors during construction and help resolve electrical issues as the project progresses.
Where required, we also provide technical coordination and engineering input during the construction stage.
The goal: reduce uncertainty on site and help the electrical installation follow the intended design.

We provide engineering input for electrical infrastructure, power distribution systems and Photovoltaic developments with storage systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, compliance and practical implementation.
How We Work
Engineering decisions should be clear, coordinated and practical.
Every project has different requirements, but our approach remains consistent. We work closely with the project team, communicate clearly and focus on engineering solutions that support the building from design through construction.
-
We start by understanding what the building needs.
Before developing the electrical design, we look at the building's purpose, architectural concept, operational requirements, project constraints and expectations of the client and design team.
-
We work with the project team, not separately from it.
Early collaboration with architects, developers and other consultants allows electrical requirements to be considered before they become difficult or expensive to accommodate.
-
Every system needs to work together.
We coordinate electrical requirements with architecture, structure, mechanical services and other disciplines to develop a coherent and buildable design.
-
A design must work beyond the drawing.
We consider installation, accessibility, maintenance, future requirements and practical site conditions when developing our solutions.
-
Good engineering should be easy to understand.
We aim to make technical information clear for clients, architects, contractors and other members of the project team, helping decisions to be made with confidence.

Charalambos A. Skamballis | Cyprus & UK Licensed Electrical Engineer
The Engineer Behind C.A.S.
Engineering Is More Than Designing Systems
A successful building is the result of many decisions made by many disciplines. Electrical engineering is one of them — and we believe it should be part of the design conversation from the beginning.
C.A.S. Electrical Consulting was founded in 2013 by Charalambos A. Skamballis, with a clear focus on providing electrical engineering that is technically rigorous, carefully coordinated and responsive to the needs of the project.
Charalambos is an electrical engineer with an academic background spanning Materials Science & Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering and Renewable Energy & Technology, with studies at the University of Ioannina, University of Glasgow, University of Cyprus and Heriot-Watt University.
His professional experience brings together electrical engineering, building energy systems, renewable energy, engineering management and technical education. Since 2014, he has also been involved in the education and development of electrical engineering professionals at Cyprus College.
This multidisciplinary background influences the way C.A.S. approaches design.
We do not see electrical engineering as a discipline that simply follows the architectural design. We see it as an integral part of the building — one that should respond to the architecture, support its function, anticipate future requirements and contribute to the overall performance of the project.
Our approach is therefore collaborative from the outset. We work with architects, developers and project teams to understand the design intent, identify electrical requirements early, coordinate systems across disciplines and make informed engineering decisions before they become constraints.
The result is not simply a set of electrical drawings.
It is a coordinated electrical design that belongs to the building, supports the architecture and is practical to deliver.
Good engineering should make the project easier to design, easier to build and better to use.
Our Commitment to Engineering
Technical rigour. Professional standards. Long-term thinking.
At C.A.S., engineering quality is not measured only by whether a design meets a requirement. It is measured by how well the solution performs within the building, how effectively it integrates with the wider project and how confidently it can be delivered.
Our work is guided by recognised standards, sound engineering principles and a commitment to continuous professional development.
We consider safety, compliance, performance, maintainability and future requirements throughout the design process — because the decisions made during design can influence a building for decades.
We also believe that professional responsibility extends beyond the drawing. It means being prepared to question assumptions, identify potential problems and provide clear engineering advice when decisions need to be made.
01 — SAFETY
Electrical safety is fundamental to every design decision.
02 — COMPLIANCE
We work with the applicable standards, regulations and technical requirements relevant to each project.
03 — PERFORMANCE
We consider energy use, system performance, efficiency and the long-term requirements of the building.
04 — CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT
Engineering practice evolves. We continuously develop our technical knowledge to remain current with standards, technologies and industry developments.
Why Work With C.A.S.
